Valley Gardens - January 14, 2024: The Hitmen were informed just prior to the game that their goalie would not be showing up. The eyes of the Apocalypse players lit up as they tried to light up the scoreboard. It wasn't that easy, however as the Hitmen played a good defensive game and took advantage of their chances. It took a last minute shot from Pete Tavares that bounced off Jim Heim into the Hitmen's empty net to seal the 7-6 win. Slap Shots: It was Michael Moore's 10th consecutive multiple goal game which adds to his record... It was Jim Heim's first 3 point game since the 1998-99 season when he had a goal and 2 assists in a 4-4 tie versus the Grand Beach Beer Bellies. Leo Silva was in net for that game... The trivia question came up after the game: "When was the last time Jeff and Rob scored in the same game?" You don't have to look too far back for the answer. In the 2015-16 season, on December 27, 2015, they both scored in a 11-3 thrashing of the Whalers. In fact, it was two games in a row as they both scored in the previous game on December 20, 2015 versus the Ratz in a 3-3 tie.
