Melrose – December 7, 2014 – The season opener featured two teams attempting to climb out from the bottom of the Spongee standings. The home opener is always enjoyable,'' Michael Moore said after scoring the game-winner in Apocalypse Now’s 4-1 victory over the Bellies on Sunday night. ''I didn't get any sleep. I was excited. It felt good, especially for the first home game.'

“It’s been a long summer, thinking about this game,'' Jim Heim said. ''When the schedule came out and we saw that this was our first game, everyone was exited. There's not a better way for us to start the season, and for us to be able to come in here and have this kind of success, it's a big win.” Late Hits: Apocalypse Now improved their record versus the Bellies to 13-7-1 with 118 goals for and 97 against...Rob Moore scored the opening goal of the season for only the second time in his career.  The last time was 18 years ago in 1996-97....Bryan Wiebe’s goal was the 50th of his career…Guido Sever was playing in his 200th regular season game…Michael Moore hit the 100 point mark in his career with his second goal.
