Apocalypse Now 3, Legion of Doom 6
Melrose - January 7, 2024: It is the 40th season for Apocalypse Now. In January, 1984, they played their first game and lost 6-0 to the Domino Warriors. They carried on the tradition by losing this one to the Legion of Doom. The Apocalypse took a 3-2 lead in the second half but a controversial penalty call on Jeff Wrobleski resulted in 3 powerplay goals from the Doom. They went on to win 6-3. Wrobleski was not impressed with the penalty call.
Slap Shots:Michael Moore scored the season icebreaker goal for the second time in his career. Jason Allard has the record for 5 season opening goals...Pete Tavares had 2 assists.
