Apocalypse Now 5, Dominos 2

Melrose (AP) – February 19, 2012 – Apocalypse Now forward Paul Correia was still upset with himself after being robbed by the Dominos goalie’s pad save in the first half. He didn’t miss on his next opportunity. Correia redirected Bryan Wiebe’s centering pass through the goalie’s legs for a huge goal as part of Apocalypse’s five-goal second half in securing a 5-2 play-off win over the Dominos on Sunday. “We started very slow but Paulie got us going and we were unstoppable after that” Bryan Finney said. As a result, Apocalypse Now advances to the final where they will face their rivals, the Grand Beach Beer Bellies. Slap Shots: It was Correia’s first goal as a member of Apocalypse Now…Michael Moore was sent down to the Vics but is expected to be a regular next season…Patrick Nikolaus scored two goals, the ninth and tenth play-off goals of his career.
