Melrose - February 10, 2023: The 2023 Playoffs are underway and excitement was in the air. The beer gardens are back and the smell of beer on the breath. Apoclypse Now played like there was no tomorrow and dominated the Bounty Hunters on the way to a 6-0 crushing. "We should have scored 12 goals," Jim Moore said. "I should have had 4 goals myself." Despite a ton of chances, Jim was unable to get a point and cut into the wing bet tally.
Slap Shots: The story of the game was Michael Moore's 5 goals and Kevin Brass' shutout. It was Moore's 4th career playoff hat-trick which ties him with Pete Pearson and Myron Fiks for the team record. It was the first 5 goal playoff performance since Ron Porada did it in the 1990 playoffs...Brass' shutout was the first one since Jim Heim did it in 2015...Myron Fiks was playing in his 60th playoff game and contributed 3 assists. He needs 3 points to hit the 100 playoff point milestone...Pete Tavares was unable to suit up due to a hamstring injury.
